The Story

Embedded Electronics for Theatre is an indispensable resource for anyone interested in integrating miniature technology into theatrical props and practicals.

The first part of this 248-page book introduces theory and design of electronic circuits, as well as basic programming skills. Covering primarily practical knowledge required to build things, this section takes the reader from the basic theory of electricity (volts, amps, resistance, etc.), through transistor function and finally into the programming of microcontrollers.

The second part of the book is an “electronics cookbook” filled with recipes for building specific circuits. Each recipe covers all of the parts and tools you will need to build and program a circuit from scratch, illustrated step-by-step instructions, and even shortcuts and ways to adapt the circuit for other uses. Recipes include single-LED blinkers, a movement-reacting candelabra, a radio-controlled relay system, DMX input & output systems, remote-control systems, and many more.

Embedded Electronics for Theatre is available in both paperback and PDF formats.
